Her artistic vocabulary incorporates both the refined techniques of her ancient Zen art form of Sumi-e and cutting-edge conceptual innovations inspired by life in Silicon Valley. Through her art, she has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for numerous charitable organizations. In 2001, Drue established the endowed Rotary Foundation Drue Kataoka Arts Scholarship.
